SUMMER READING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY: Registration for the West End Library's summer reading programs continues for children of all ages, from pre-readers through elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school, as well as for adults. The theme is "Be Creative @ Your Library," and there are many interesting activities and events planned.  Sign up at the library.

TEENS & 'TWEENS CAN GET A NEW LOOK: Girls in fourth grade and up are invited to join our fun group of cosmetologists and discover a new look during a free "Creative Hair, Nails, & Make-up Extravaganza" at 6 p.m. on Thurs., July 2.  Please register.

'BOOMWHACKERS & FOUND SOUNDS': Musical possibilities are all around you!  Young people ages 9 and up can discover unusual sounds and amazing instruments during a free program by Vanessa DeVett at 6:30 p.m. on Fri., July 10.  Please register.

AFTERNOON CRAFT PROGRAMS ON MONDAYS:  Through Mon., August 10, 60-minute craft programs will be held at the West End Library for children in kindergarten through fourth grade.  The programs begin at 4 p.m.  Please register.

PRESCHOOL STORY TIMES ON TUESDAYS:  Through Tues., August 11, the West End Library will offer story times for children from birth to age five along with their parents.  The 45-minute programs begin at 10:30 a.m. and include stories read out loud, songs, music, and movement.  Please register.
