• The West End Readers, members of an informal reading group, meet regularly at the library to discuss a variety of books.  Anyone with an interest in books is welcome to attend.  The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on November 7th to discuss Per Petterson’s book, “Out Stealing Horses”. On December 12th, they will be discussing a Christmas book of choice.
  • Free ‘Wedding Ring’ quilting classes will be held in October. Donna Purves, an experienced quilter, will lead three quilting classes with the goal of making a double wedding ring pattern quilt top for a pillow on Sat., Oct. 15, Sat., Oct. 22, and Sat., Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon.  Participants should have some sewing knowledge and must register to attend.
  • Visit South Dakota
    The ” Mount Rushmore State” is a treasure trove of curiosities, according to Dahle Bingaman, who will present a free public travelogue about South Dakota at the West End Library beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 14th.
  • A card-making class for older teens and adults will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Sat., Nov. 12.  Lori Jo Showalter will lead the class.
  • Sugar Pinecone Holiday Decoration
    Keith Phelps, from Country Farm & Home, will visit the library to present a Make & Take workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 5th. The workshop will be limited to the first 10 people who register. The cost is $10.00. 

 

  • Throughout the year the West End Library hosts special interest programs that cover a wide variety of topics such as history, knitting, gardening, scrapbooking, music, art, nature, science, and well-being.
